Ioanna I. Koukli, Founder & Managing Director of Pharmassist Ltd
Through a career track of over a decade in the Pharmaceutical Industry reaching the position of R&D Manager, Dr. Koukli materializes her vision and establishes Pharmassist Ltd in 1999. Today the company is listed as one of the leading full-service Contract Research Organizations in Greece, and a key point of reference within a global network of pharmaceutical professionals. With almost 30 years of active involvement in the Pharmaceutical Science and Industry, Dr. Koukli has developed the expertise and “know-how” of health technologies, from research and development to product manufacture and from registration to marketing.
Always committed to her innovative vision, she steers the Company towards international expansion, extroversion and ever-growing array of services.
In November 2019, Dr. Koukli was elected President of the Hellenic BioCluster (HBio), the first greek biosciences cluster bringing together the innovation leaders of Greece in the sectors of Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Diagnostics, Medical Devices and Specialized Services.
Dr. Koukli holds a BSc and a PhD in Chemistry, both awarded by the Department of Chemistry at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Lydia Vassilopoulou, Head of Regulatory Affairs
Having started her professional career in the Sales department of Novartis Hellas, Lydia joined the regulatory affairs department within the same company in 1995 where she acquired valuable knowledge on various aspects of the Regulatory field, and familiarized herself with all existing registration procedures. As of 1997 till 2008 she was Head of Regulatory Affairs department at Novartis Hellas.
In the pursuit of professional challenges, Lydia joined Pharmassist in May 2008 aiming at a more expanded scope of action and decision-making in her expertise. Leading a team of regulatory affairs professionals, she oversees the smooth transition of a product from R&D to Marketing, by providing scientific, legal and strategic support and advice for the licensing, marketing and legal compliance of products according to current local and EU legislation.
Lydia holds a BSc in Biology awarded by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a MSc in Health Economics and Management by the University of Piraeus.
Konstantinos Stavrinos, Head of Medical Affairs
Dr. Stavrinos earned a M.D. degree in 1991 from the Medical School of the University of Athens, Greece. In 1994 he begins his specialization in the department of Internal Medicine at the Western Attica General Hospital and afterwards at the University Clinic of Laiko General Hospital Athens. During his specialization, he shows strong interest in clinical research and in 1997 he is appointed Clinical Trials Monitor in Boehringer Ingelheim Ellas AE. At the same time, he is responsible for the Medical Affairs of the Respiratory and Cardiological Drugs of the company and also undertakes the development of its Medical Affairs Department. In 2004 after completing his clinical training he is awarded the title of medical specialization in Internal Medicine. From 2007 to 2016, Dr. Stavrinos was the Head of Medical and Regulatory Affairs at Boehringer Ingelheim Ellas AE. In March 2016, he takes charge of the Medical and Clinical Operations Department at Pharmassist Ltd. As of December 2018, he has been leading the company’s Medical Affairs department.
Dr. Stavrinos has participated in several National and International Congresses where he presented part of his scientific research work, as well as in relevant courses and seminars in management for further professional development. He is member of the Athens Medical Association, the Hellenic Society for the study of the Liver and the Hellenic Society of Pharmaceutical Medicine (former Vice President of the Management Board). He has also served for more than 10 years as a member of the Medical Directors’ working group at the Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies (SFEE).
Dafni Karioti, Head of Pharmacovigilance
Ms Dafni Karioti started her professional career in 2012, at the Pharmacovigilance Department of Amgen Hellas Pharmaceutical EPE where she was appointed Global Safety Associate. After 3 successful years, she continues her career in Pharmassist, undertaking the position of Drug Safety Officer in 2014 and providing consulting services as external partner to a multinational company. Two years later, Ms Karioti joins Pharmassist internal Pharmacovigilance department team as a Senior Drug Safety Officer.
In 2020, she is taking up the duties of Pharmacovigilance Manager at Pharmassist Ltd. Over the last years she has acquired an overview on various issues in the field and a very good perception of the need for further improvement, especially at the level of company procedures. She also has great experience in systems and databases of pharmacovigilance data, including systems and Eudravigilance databases but also commercial databases such as Argus, Empirica, BPI Pheda, PcV Manager, e.t.c.
Mrs Karioti holds a BSc in Biochemistry and Biotechnology by the University of Thessaly and is currently a MSc candidate in Development of new drugs: research, launch and access by the Medical School of Kapodistrian University.
Maria Moukouli, Head of Clinical Operations
Mrs. Maria Moukouli began her professional career in the Regulatory Affairs Department of Pharmassist Ltd in 2011, after completing a short term as Sales Manager for Sigma Aldrich. In 2012, she switched to the Clinical Affairs Department as a Clinical Research Associate, collaborating with several International Pharmaceutical Companies and gaining experience in Clinical study management and successful implementation. In 2015, she assumes her new position as Senior Clinical Research Associate/Project Manager for the Clinical Affairs Department of Pharmassist, broadening her vast expertise in the field and further developing her management skills. In 2017 Maria takes up the duties of Clinical Project Leader in her Department and also is awarded an International GCP Auditor Certificate issued by NBScience/ICH/London, UK, following the successful training course completion.
In December 2018, Mrs. Moukouli was appointed Clinical Operations Manager and currently leads the Clinical Operations Department of Pharmassist, providing with strategy, motivation, clinical guidance, training and support to her team of professionals, while looking forward to tackling future challenges in the field.
Mrs. Moukouli holds a BSc in Biology and an MSc in Microbial Biotechnology, both awarded by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a PhD in Enzyme Biotechnology, awarded by the School of Chemical Engineering at National & Technical University of Athens.
